Healthy Food Swaps You Should Try

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

If you’re trying to stick to a healthy diet, sweet and savory temptations can derail any of your good intentions. And while you should never have to completely eliminate any of your favorite foods, you can definitely satisfy your cravings with some simple healthy swaps.

truvision food substitute

Try out these healthier alternatives for different “junk” food cravings to help keep you on track with your health-related goals.

truvision pizza substitute

PIZZA

Craving a big slice of cheesy pepperoni with smooth marinara sauce? Try veggie pizzas. Swap out the crust for a low-calorie vegetable alternative such as mini eggplant pizzas, portobello mushroom pizzas, or zucchini pizza boats. You can also make a more traditional crust out of mashed cauliflower, eggs, and a little mozzarella.

truvision pasta substitute

PASTA

Craving a zesty pasta? Try using veggie noodles. Make your favorite pasta sauce then pour it on top of spaghetti squash instead of regular pasta noodles. You can also try making your own noodles with a veggie spiralizer with zucchini. Swapping out your noodles for veggie alternatives gives you more vitamins and fiber at much less of a caloric cost.

If your favorite sauce is a cream sauce, try swapping out the heavy cream, cheeses, and butter for plain nonfat Greek yogurt. It gives the creamy consistency without the extra calories, plus it is packed with protein and calcium.

truvision chips substitute

CHIPS

If you’re wanting the crispy salty crunch of potato chips, try making your own kale chips. Get the crunch without all the calories and trans fats. Just trim leaves, toss with 2 tbsp olive oil, and bake at 275 for 20 minutes. You can also try it with sweet potatoes, zucchinis, spinach, or Brussel sprouts!

If you’re wanting the crunch and creamy combo of chips and dip, try veggie sticks with hummus, or sweet potato chips with some chunky tomato based or mango salsa.

truvision candy substitute

CANDY & DESSERT

Got a sweet tooth? Go for fruit, aka natures candy. If you’re feeling tangy sweet, go for pomegranates, kiwis, or grapes. If you’re feeling more of a rich sweet, bake some red apples or peaches sprinkled with cinnamon. Blend some fruits together with a little ice and coconut water for a sweet smoothie.

If you’re craving chocolate, go for some dark chocolate or cacao which makes you feel satisfied much quicker than milk chocolate plus dark chocolate contains antioxidants. Our non-glycemic chocolate also makes a great healthy treat!

Want something creamy? Make a fruit parfait with Greek yogurt, berries, and a little granola. Or you can blend together some yogurt, strawberries, and a banana for a creamy smoothie.

truvision fries substitute

FRIES

Craving some salty thick cut fries? (Who doesn’t?) Try sweet potato fries. Don’t fry them in oil, but lightly coat sliced sweet potatoes in olive oil, salt, and pepper then bake for 25 minutes at 425 degrees. You’re getting less fat by baking instead of frying, plus sweet potatoes are rich in beta-carotene, vitamin C, pro-vitamin E, anthocyanins and more!

Now, my weight loss journey has morphed into a fitness journey…Believe in yourself and stay consistent. You are worth it!

TruVision Testimonials
TruVision Testimonials

At the end of 2017, I weighed over 400 lbs and had mobility issues due to my weight. I felt out of control with my overeating and stress at work only prompted me to continue to turn to food as a crutch. Each day I woke up and contemplated how I would make it through the day. My weight made everyday activities like getting dressed going to work and playing with my 3-year-old challenging. I had to use a heating pad just to sit at my desk at work comfortably!

I was introduced to TruVision Health by a family member while I was looking into weight loss surgery and had been told I needed to lose weight first. They had achieved some amazing results and I figured why not give this a shot. Frankly, I was desperate. Although I was skeptical at first after my first try I began to feel energized and felt hope that this could help me!

As a single mother, I felt guilty spending money on myself but soon discovered I was actually saving money by eating less and choosing to cook healthier meals at home instead of eating out all the time with my daughter. I had the energy I needed now to start making better health choices like going on short walks with my daughter instead of watching TV or joining her at the playground instead of sitting on a bench. I continued to feel motivated and became more positive and encouraged that it was working for me!

After 14 months of consistently taking TruVision Health products, I’m happy to announce I have my life back. I feel great and still am feeling energetic, positive, and motivated. I recently started actively selling TruVision Health and am bringing in additional income to my household. Long ago did I drop the mom guilt. This was an investment in myself and it has been more than worth it.

Now, my weight loss journey has morphed into a fitness journey. I enjoy training for 5ks with my sister and participate in the 10k Pledge monthly. I’m excited to say I have enough energy to play with my daughter all day on the weekends and enjoy many things in life that I was missing out on due to my former weight issues.

For anyone starting out on their own TruVision Health transformations, I recommend making small gradual changes over time and stay consistent. Don’t let the scale determine your mood. Take pics and measure. This is truly a lifestyle transformation. There’s no race to the end and no better prize than a full lifestyle transformation that leaves you happy and healthy!

For those currently on their own transformation journey, I encourage you to share your stories to help others. Keeping an active social media account to share my story has been an invaluable tool in keeping me motivated and accountable each day. Believe in yourself and stay consistent. You are worth it!

Results May Vary:  TruVision Health products are intended to be taken along with a healthy diet and exercise regimen to produce the best results. Food intake, rates of metabolism and levels of exercise vary from person to person. This means weight loss results will also vary from person to person. No individual result should be seen as typical.

How Natural Plant Extracts Can Help You Lose Weight

By | Weight Loss | No Comments

The key to losing weight isn’t a secret, despite what most weight loss supplement companies will lead you to believe. A combination of a healthy diet and exercise yield the best, and most permanent, weight loss results.

When you properly feed your body, you feel better and can get more out of your workouts. You also avoid food cravings that will hinder your ability to lose weight or drain your energy levels.

But eating right and working out are easier said than done. If you aren’t properly fueling your body, you will most likely feel sluggish which makes maintaining an active lifestyle difficult. That’s where natural plant extracts play a role.

What to Know About Natural Plant Extracts

Natural plant extracts are compounds obtained or derived from plant materials. These can include: fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, roots, etc. and can provide powerful health benefits when consumed.

A fortified and proven combination of natural plant extracts can improve blood chemistry which supports a healthy body and enhances longevity. When you tune up your blood chemistry, you can see an increase in your metabolism and maintain liver performance – all of which is critical in a weight loss journey.

How to Incorporate Natural Plant Extracts Into Your Lifestyle

We’ve established eating right can be hard, but are there products or programs out there that can help? TruVision offers a health system that supports you in your journey to lose weight and maintain an active lifestyle.

Gaining weight comes down to what we eat, how much we eat, and how active we are. When we target these areas of our health, we can see improvements. That’s why TruVision has developed the TruVision Health Weight Loss Combo. This system, which includes our truFIX and truCONTROL products, are made of natural compounds and plant extracts that help curb your appetite and support healthy energy levels which helps you move more.

How to Lose Weight with TruVision

Our truCONTROL in conjunction with truFIX promote healthy weight management, mental clarity, and enhanced feelings of well-being. Together, this powerful combination of antioxidants will help you burn body fat, reduce your appetite, and provide you with the energy you need to get up and get active.

Thousands of people have incorporated the TruVision system into their long-term health plans and have seen dramatic results. Some even lose anywhere from 4-7 pounds within the first week.

Stop craving junk food. Quit feeling lethargic. It’s time to put your health first, and it’s time to do it the right way.

healthy snacks on the go

Healthy Snacks for Busy Moms

By | Weight Loss | No Comments

Being a mom is a busy enough job as it is, but when you add a working life and career to the mix, things can start to get hectic indeed.  With so much to do, it can be tough going to keep everyone in the family fueled up with nutritious foods.

Cutting corners to save time on food preparation can often involve making convenient but unhealthy snack choices, but it doesn’t have to be that way. We’re here to tell you that convenient doesn’t have to mean unhealthy or even time-consuming. Use these five super healthy snacks on the go ideas to keep you and your family charged up for the whole day.

Trail Mix

A well-proportioned trail mix is one of those easy, healthy snacks which provides lasting energy and even gives you an excellent excuse to indulge in a little bit of dark chocolate as well. Dark chocolate and its antioxidants make great combinations when thrown into a trail mix with healthy portions of fiber and protein. You will have a well-balanced snack for a slow-burn of energy that will keep everyone perked up for a most of the day.

You can use your imagination but here’s a mix you can use as a starting point. Combine almonds, dried cherries, and dark chocolate chips (or M & Ms). Add a pinch of cinnamon and dash of sea salt. Other nuts are good too depending on what you like, so experiment with cashews, brazil nuts (good for selenium), dried fruits – dried mango is sweet and delicious – coconut flakes and banana chips.

Remember, a trail mix is packed full of energy, so a small handful is all you need to top up the fuel tank.

Snack Sized Bags of Healthy Cereals

There are plenty of cereals available which are healthy options for breakfast but throw some into a snack sized bag, and you have any number of easy, healthy snacks ready to go at a moment’s notice. Choose cereals which are high in vitamins, minerals, folic acid, and low in sugar. Whole grain foods will provide the most health benefits, while also giving you that much needed slow release of energy.

Savory Muffins

Sometimes you want something that’s savory instead of sweet. In these situations, a savory muffin is an easy snack everybody can enjoy at any time of the day without adding any unnecessary calories. Plus, the kids will love them as well.  Zucchini muffins are a favorite recipe you can easily find online, but there are plenty of variations you can try to find a taste that’s right for you.

Rice Cakes and Topping

Rice cakes are an easy option that is completely fat-free, and low in calories. They are little weak in the vitamins and minerals department but that’s where the toppings come in, and your imagination is the only limit. Try combinations of avocado, chicken, cream cheese, pesto, or tomato with a sprinkle of basil. Peanut or almond butter also goes well with bananas or strawberries, or both.

Air Popped Popcorn

The popcorn you get at the cinemas is junk food covered in unhealthy fats, and the microwave popcorn isn’t much better, but if you make your own popcorn in a hot air popper then you have yourself a healthy snack.

Plain air-popped popcorn can be a little bland, but you do have some flavoring options. Sprinkle a little olive oil with Parmesan cheese for a savory delight or add a dash of chili and some sea salt for a bit of spice.

With just a few simple ingredients and a couple of spare minutes, every busy mom will have plenty of healthy snacks on the go options ready to pop into lunch boxes quick as a flash.

healthy habits

Simple Habits of Healthy People

By | Weight Loss | No Comments

The health and wellness industry would have you believe that losing weight and getting fit is a complicated process requiring the latest and greatest magic lotion or complicated smoothie. In truth, good health comes down to a few simple tweaks you can incorporate into your lifestyle which becomes natural daily habits over time.

Here are five healthy habits you can do which will help you lead a healthier and happier life:

Eat a Healthy Breakfast

Our busy lifestyle sees many of us rushing out the door without a healthy breakfast to start the day, and we end up making do with a coffee and a donut as we rush to the office. It’s hardly the breakfast of champions and is not the best strategy for getting through a busy day with a clear mind.

Lack of time is not an excuse as a bowl of nutritious oatmeal with some fresh fruit takes minutes to prepare, and the same goes for a poached egg and a slice of wholemeal toast. Plus, you’ll undoubtedly notice the difference in energy levels and your clarity of mind.

Get an Active Hobby

Slogging it out with the weights at the gym or grinding out a few miles on the treadmill isn’t everybody’s cup of tea. Fortunately, there are plenty of other options for maintaining optimum levels of fitness.

Indoor rock climbing puts your entire body through its paces, and a spot of tennis will get the heart pumping while you burn off a few extra calories. You could also try getting back to nature and take a hike with a friend through some of the local national parks.

Many sporting clubs offer indoor sports such as soccer. They are a favorite way of getting some much-needed exercise while also providing the opportunity to meet new people and make some friends.

Use your imagination for finding an active hobby which you can enjoy as there are more options than can be listed here. Don’t forget you can also take your pick from yoga, jogging, boxing, and martial arts. Even a spot of vigorous gardening a few times a week will have a dramatic impact on your health and fitness levels.

Drink Water and Avoid Soda

Your body needs 2 to 3 liters of water every day to function correctly so make sure you keep yourself well hydrated throughout the day.

Avoiding soda is also an excellent idea as these sugary water drinks are full of empty calories. Even getting rid of the soda drink from the dinner table every night can do good things for reducing your weekly calorie intake.

Positive Friends

Health and fitness aren’t all about body weight and how fast you can run, as your mental health also plays a big part in how you feel every day. Human beings are social animals and being alone for extended lengths of time isn’t good for our health. We all need a circle of friends who are positive, uplifting and are supportive of our goals.

Regularly engage with your circle of friends by going out to lunch, having a games night, or enjoy an afternoon barbecue at the park. And no, social media doesn’t count because you need face-to-face time if your social life is going to have any impact on your health.

Take 10K Steps a Day

Even the cheapest fitness trackers have a step-counting feature. Make it your goal to take at least 10,000 steps or more every day. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, and park further away than usual from the office every morning.

If time permits, instead of emailing or messaging your co-workers get out of your chair and walk over to their cubicle or office. If you still come up short by home-time, do a couple of laps around the block.

You don’t have to be a fitness fanatic to enjoy a healthy lifestyle, nor do you have to sacrifice hours out of every day at the gym. By incorporating a few simple habits such as the ones discussed above, you can dramatically improve your health, fitness, and outlook on life.

Preparing to Lose Weight

By | Weight Loss | No Comments

Taking on and changing lifelong habits can be tough, especially when it comes to losing weight. A significant part of building your levels of motivation for weight loss involves laying the groundwork and taking note of what successful weight loss means to you.

At Truvision Weight Loss we want you to succeed and have prepared this quick guide on the best ways to prepare.

TruVision Weight Loss Before and After Photos

Before your weight loss journey begins, it’s a great idea to take a photo of how you look now. As you shed the pounds, you can regularly refer to the image and congratulate yourself on how far you have come.

The best way to take a photo of yourself is to get someone else to do it for you, but it doesn’t have to be a professional photographer. If your only option is to use a mirror, then make sure you hold the camera off to the side, so the flash doesn’t flood the image, and you don’t block your face.

Another good tip for a mirror shot is to not look at your reflection, but instead, focus your gaze on the lens of the camera just like you would if someone else was taking the shot.

Good lighting is essential for a before photo, and make sure you aren’t in front of a distracting background – a plain wall is ideal.

The attire you wear for your photo is also essential. A loose-fitting gown will hide how well your efforts are paying off. Instead, go for a swimsuit or form hugging outfit for best results – active wear or gym clothes would be perfect.

Some people are tempted to photograph themselves in their underwear, but this may make you feel uncomfortable if your photo is going to be publicly viewed by anybody other than close family.

One photo is not enough. You will want to record your journey with regular snaps of your progress. For a more accurate picture of your progress, always take the photo under the same conditions as your first image.

TruVision Weight Loss Before and After Body Measurements

A cheap tape measure from the craft store is all you will need for accurate body measurements. The best time to take your measurements is in the morning, as your body shape changes slightly during the day.

Taking measurements at the same time each day will ensure consistency in the measurements, and you will gain a deeper understanding of what is and isn’t working for you.

Join a Success Group

Weight loss can be tough when you’re going it alone. However, while you are in it for yourself, you don’t have to do it by yourself. Success groups are a terrific way to share your trials and tribulations and find motivation in others’ success.

You can find support in a group in many ways including hints and tips, exercise ideas, dieting strategies, encouragement, and all while keeping yourself accountable.

Clear out the Fridge and the Pantry

If you are just starting your weight loss efforts then making sure your fridge, freezer, and pantry are all free of temptations is an excellent way to begin your journey.

Prepare Your Meal Plan

Wondering about what you have for dinner or lunch every day only adds to the struggle and leads to the temptation of taking shortcuts. Create your meal plan with delicious, healthy recipes that you know you will look forward to, and you are less likely to make a detour to the drive through on your way home from work.
